stainless with a copper bottom is nice. that's what I have...they're great!
what we did to get ours....
went to all the local department stores and shopped around....we found a 12 piece set on clearance for $75....you can do some of the research online...but you are going to have to do a little leg work to get a good deal....but it was well worth it! we love ours!
also, the heavier the better....you can get aluminum look alikes and they're super light...but they don't cook as well. layers are good. copper layers inside are the best. multiple layers of aluminum inside are ok.
don't get teflon coated pans....teflon is hazardous to your health.
don't get any with plastic handles because they can't be put in the oven when a dish requires being seared on the stove and then finished off in the oven.
you don't necessarily have to get name brands...just be picky about the features.
I love Emerilware for stainless steel, but QVC and HSN have nonstick cookware with a lifetime warranty.
le cruset. it's nice and heavy.which means it spreads the heat real well.
Don't do this! A cookware set should just be bought out of regular household expenses! Get him something personal, for gosh'sake.
wolfgang puck has a fab set of cookware. stainless steel , no teflon.
the best? all-clad.
I love my calphalon, regular and non-stick.
I like my Kitchen-Aid very much.
I love my Cuisnart stainless steel.
Emeril's Emerilware is the best I've used. Especially the cast iron pans. I love em. They come pre-seasoned. Its pricey, but its worth it. The website is below to check them out. But you can also check out ebay.com to get indivdual items. I got my cast iron grill pan there for a deal.
Thew best is cast iron. It is healthy, safe, and cooks like no other cook ware.
The best idea is not to buy your pots and pans nor your knives in sets.
Go to a good restaurant supply store and select some no b.s. pieces of commercial cookware.
Lagostina, they are sale at Canadian Tire, now for 60% off.
My favorite cookware of all time is T-Fal. It's not the most expensive, but it's not the cheap stuff either. I've had mine for years and have no complaints. Congratullations on having such a great husband!
tefal & corella
I love Berndes, just got rid of my Scanpan which I grew to hate! Every once in a while I can pick up a piece of Berndes at TJ Max, but I have also gone on the web and picked up some. Nice and heavy, goes in the oven, is very non stick, cleans up like a dream!
Happy Birthday to Hubby, what a great gift!!!
Le Creuset.
Enamelled iron ware and fairly heavy!
Any search engine will throw up a myriad of places to buy it.
